bifrost Tarot

The bifrost Tarot was illustrated by Jeremy Lampkin from January to December 2006. The deck was self published in 2008, and was the catalyst for Lampkin's artwork. bifrost was based primarily on Thoth structure, and also partially inspired by Rider imagery. This deck was the first to assimilate Dr. Timothy Leary's tarot methodology as well as the LaVey Personality Synthesizer. The deck's creator intends to rework bifrost one day, which he sees as a rough draft, into a final draft in his psychedelic style of painting.

Also designed by Jeremy Lampkin (with thanks to the other esoteric artists involved), Tarotsmith.com delivers free tarot reading using the bifrost Tarot. Alternatively, bifrost also has its own page on Tarotsmith dedicated to online tarot reading. And if you'd like to get more familiar with the cards, you can always study the deck structure and card meanings right here on bifrosttarot.com.

Minor Arcana

Pip Cards

The pips are laid out on this page to easily show the way the energies overlap and inter-relate.  Like with Thoth, each pip card embodies a particular element of a particular sephiroth.  Each of the Major Arcana represents a particular path on the tree of life.

Some of the more old-fashioned occult symbolism of the Book of Thoth did not speak so clearly to the artist, who decided to base a deck on Thoth but with modernized symbols.  The ideas of others who have followed in Crowley's footsteps have been assimilated to reflect the occult frontier of the 21st Century.

Court Cards

When it comes to the courts, bifrost Tarot has an updated version of Thoth's storyline.  The King-Knights have been rendered as the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse.  The implementation of the LaVey Personality Synthesizer has further developed the relationship between the Princes and Queens.  The Princesses could be seen as bridges between the other court cards as well as between the courts and pips.
